True North Copper (ASX:TNC) has identified ‘shallow’ copper-gold intersections from its exploration and resource extension reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Cloncurry Copper Project (CCP) in Northwest Queensland.
Highlights from the Copper Mine Creek and Great Australia Mine targets within the project include 10m @ 0.88% copper and 0.15 grams per tonne gold from 78m, as well as 13m @ 0.38% copper and 0.08g/t gold from 30m, including 1m @ 2.01% copper and 0.47g/t gold from 35m.
Other drilling intercepts include 51m @ 0.37% copper and 0.07g/t gold from 133m, including 30m @ 0.52% copper and 0.09g/t gold from 154m.
Managing Director Andrew Mooney says the drilling results returned so far continue to support the company’s broader strategy of “building a robust and right-sized Cloncurry Copper Project with a credible near-term development pathway”.
The company adds that results from this current drilling campaign reinforce the potential for incremental resource growth across the existing Great Australia Mine resource base.
True North has also completed diamond drilling for metallurgical, geotechnical, and resource confidence upgrade programs to support future reserve conversion and Prefeasibility studies (PFS).
“The program has focused on increasing our orebody knowledge and resource confidence, testing near-mine resource growth opportunities and delivering the metallurgical and geotechnical work required to support future reserve conversion and PFS studies,” Mooney says.
“With drilling completed across the CCP campaign, we are also looking forward to the upcoming Wallace North and South RC drilling results, where follow-up drilling has targeted extension to previously reported high-grade copper-gold intersections and several new geophysical targets.”
The company says drilling results from the Wallace North and South areas will be released through June and July, while metallurgical and geotechnical testwork will progress through to September.
True North Copper is an Australian copper company advancing a portfolio of assets in the Mt Isa region of Northwest Queensland.
The company will be attending the RIU Gold Coast Investment Showcase, held between 11-12 June, at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa.
