True North Copper (ASX:TNC) has intersected broad copper–cobalt–silver mineralisation in the first three diamond holes completed during its 2026 drilling program at the Mt Oxide Project in Queensland.
The three drill holes, totalling 1,009m, tested the Aquila discovery, where drilling and geophysics have outlined an interpreted mineralised system over 1.8km of strike.
Hole MOXDD26_001 returned 35m @ 0.82% copper (Cu), 0.04% cobalt (Co), and 3.40 grams per tonne silver (Ag) from 32m. This included 9.2m @ 2.21% Cu from 32.8m and 4m @ 4.08% Cu from 38m.
MOXDD26_003 intersected 32m @ 0.70% Cu, 0.06% Co, and 7.20g/t Ag from 181m, including 9.4m @ 2.04% Cu and 21.20g/t Ag from 182m.
Lastly, MOXDD26_002 returned 36m @ 0.34% Cu, 0.09% Co, and 1.50g/t Ag from 136m, including 6m @ 0.75% Cu.
All reported widths are downhole intervals.
True North says geological logging indicates the mineralisation occurs within a structurally controlled network of sulphide-bearing veins, stockworks, and breccias. The company interprets higher-grade domains of about 10m true width within a broader mineralised envelope of approximately 30m true width.
Managing Director Andrew Mooney says the results improve the company’s understanding of the system and its exploration targets.
“Each drill hole is improving our understanding of the geology and the controls on mineralisation, giving us greater confidence in where to target the next phase of exploration and expand the Aquila mineral system,” Mooney says.
Holes MOXDD26_002 and MOXDD26_003 also encountered the subparallel Acanthis zone. True North says the latter extended the interpreted Acanthis structural trend by about 300m north, although results from these intersections were more subdued than those from Aquila.
Further assays are expected from Aquila, Aquila North, Apollo, and Acanthis. The company also plans additional drilling, metallurgy, geological modelling, and technical studies at Mt Oxide.
