Toubani Resources’ (ASX:TRE) company secretary Kevin Hart is retiring as of 27 February 2026.
Aaron Gates, who has been a joint secretary for the company since July 2024, will continue the role as secretary. Gates is responsible for communications between the company and the ASX pursuant to ASX Listing Rule 12.6.
Toubani is currently focusing on developing the Kobada Gold Project in Mali, following receiving an environmental permit. The permit provides the company with key permits needed for construction at Kobada. Resettlement activities are already underway.
As reported by Mining.com.au, Toubani secured a binding agreement with the State of Mali to strengthen the development phase at Kobada, with the project to be governed under the 2023 Mining Code.
The State of Mali will have its interest in Kobada capped at 35% in this agreement, aligning with the state’s commitment to streamlining development work.
Mali’s economy is reliant on local gold mining and agriculture, listed as one of the poorest countries in the world, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
At the time of writing, gold firmed around US$5,180 ($7,281) an ounce, on track for its seventh consecutive monthly rise as investors weighed US trade policy and geopolitical risks. Gold’s price is 81.16% higher than a year ago, as reported by Trading Economics.
