Toubani Resources (ASX:TRE) has received an environmental permit for the Kobada Gold Project in Mali, West Africa, allowing the company to progress with development activities.
The Ministry of Environment, Sanitation, and Sustainable Development approved the company’s environmental and social impact assessment and resettlement action plan.
The permit provides Toubani with the key permits needed for construction at Kobada, with the company already beginning resettlement activities.
As reported by Mining.com.au, Toubani secured a binding agreement with the State of Mali to strengthen the development phase at Kobada, with the project to be governed under the 2023 Mining Code.
The State of Mali will have its interest in Kobada capped at 35% in this agreement, aligning with the state’s commitment to streamlining development work.
Mali’s economy is reliant on local gold mining and agriculture, listed as one of the poorest countries in the world, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Trading Economics reports the price of gold to be up 74.35% for this year over year, marked at US$5,139 per ounce as of 23 February 2026.
Toubani Resources is an exploration and development company, focused on advancing the Kobada Gold Project in Mali.
The Kobada Gold Project hosts a mineral resource of 2.2 million ounces of gold.
