Western Australian (WA)-focused gold (Au) explorer Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) reports it will recommence drilling at its 100% owned flagship Paris Copper-Gold (Cu-Au) Project in Western Australia (WA).
The 4,500m reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign is scheduled to commence next week and will target potential extensions of ‘significant’ historical Au occurrences along the corridor intersected in previous drilling.
It is reported that drilling is also planned to in-fill and further extend the ‘high-grade’ Au structure at the project’s same-name prospect, which has been extended from 250m to 900m wide within the past year following the return of Au grades of up to 10.7g/t Au.
Additional drilling will also be conducted to extend shallow mineralisation intersected at the HHH and Observation prospects, which returned ‘significant’ historical intercepts of 9m at 11.6g/t Au from 66m (21ORC009) and 4m at 15.86g/t Au from 57m (21ORC031).
Torque Metals believes that the 2,500m northwest-southeast distance between the two prospects contains several parallel mineralised Au zones.
Commenting on the drilling campaign, Torque Metals Managing Director, Cristian Moreno said: “We are excited to re-commence drill testing multiple targets for gold mineral systems on one of the most fertile gold structures on the planet – the Boulder-Lefroy fault. Our campaign intends to extent the already identified ‘high-grade’ gold structure at the Paris prospect and investigate the potential for several additional ‘high-grade’ development areas across the Observation to Paris corridor.

Continued discoveries across the WA goldfields show that brownfields exploration around historic operations and following up on open drill intercepts has an amazing potential to uncover new mineralised systems that were missed in previous exploration. Torque is looking forward with anticipation to what this program unearths, providing investors with assay results as they come to hand.”
The company also notes that the Paris project carries the potential to become a ‘significant’ Gold Camp hosting several deposits within a broader mineralised system, which consists of parallel structures and splays controlled by the Boulder Lefroy System.
In addition, in preparation for the commencement of the drilling campaign, the company’s technical team has analysed additional Au pathfinder elements, such as arsenic, silver, bismuth, copper, molybdenum, tellurium, antimony, zinc and tungsten.
Torque Metals is a mineral exploration company that currently boasts an ‘exciting’ portfolio of ‘high-grade’ Au deposits in WA. The company’s flagship Paris project is located within the WA goldfields, about 40km northeast of the Higginsville gold mine. The project comprises 9 wholly-owned, granted, pre-native title mining licences and 2 prospecting licences that cover a total land area of 68km-square.
With the drilling campaign scheduled to commence next week, Torque Metals announces it will provide its investors with assay results as they come to hand.
