Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) has hit a new shallow gold zone at its Paris Gold Project in Western Australia, lending further support to the potential for a large gold camp in the region.
Extensional drilling, consisting of reverse circulation and diamond drilling, focused on the previously untested 1.5km gap between the Paris and HHH pits.
So far, mineralisation has been seen across roughly 500m of that gap — with results up to 16m @ 4.19 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 66m, including 2m @ 13.12g/t gold and 2m @ 18.91g/t gold — suggesting the HHH and Paris pits may be connected.
The company says these results enhance the project’s potential, with continued support for a larger geological link along the 2.5km long corridor between the Paris, HHH, and Observation prospects.
Meanwhile, drilling also extended mineralisation by up to 50m from previous intercepts.
Those results include 16.3m @ 7.95 (g/t) gold from 272m, including 4.63m @ 25.62g/t gold.
“Paris’ proximity to infrastructure, including nearby processing plants, enhances the value of Torque’s 13 pre-native title development-ready mining licences in our 1,200km2 tenement holding,” Managing Director Cristian Moreno says.
“The immediate focus is on further defining shallow gold lodes and advancing Torque’s first Mineral Resource Estimate and maiden gold exploration target.”
The company says its next exploration program will focus on extending the newly identified mineralisation and attempting to connect this with the Paris pit.
Torque will conduct a follow-up reverse circulation and diamond drilling program of up to 10,000m of drilling, as well as a soils campaign on recently acquired tenements at Paris.
Upon completion, a maiden resource estimate will be released, as well as a maiden exploration target.
