Talisman eyes more drilling at Lachlan

Talisman Mining (ASX:TLM) is planning to drill an additional 3 reverse circulation (RC) holes during December at the Lachlan Project in central New South Wales.

The $33.89 million market capitalisation company intends to tackle drilling at the northern conductor to confirm the continuity of mineralisation between the wide intercepts reported in hole MYRC0002 and hole MYRC0003.

Drilling will also test for extensions of the mineralisation underneath the moving loop electromagnetic (MLEM) anomaly a further 1,000m to the west of hole MYRC0002.

Talisman has intersected lead-zinc-silver via RC drilling above the southern EM conductor at its Rip N Tear prospect, with hole MYRC0004 returning 18m @ 0.28% lead, 5.2 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, and 0.01% zinc from 142m to 160m.

Talisman Mining Managing Director Andrew Munckton says the company will be extending all RC holes with diamond tails in the coming weeks to test the targeted deeper source of the conductivity anomaly with diamond core.

“Importantly, the zones of lead, silver, zinc, and copper mineralisation intersected at depth in both these holes were recorded in fresh rock. The fresh rock intersections also sit above the modelled northern MLEM target.

The diamond tails program is designed to confirm the source of the conductor below this mineralised base metal sulphide zone. The northern MLEM target is extensive and spans over 3km in length.”

Talisman believes that the current diamond tails and proposed follow-up program will define the style, nature, and extent of the mineralisation at the 2 chargeable anomalies.

Further, targets remain open to the northeast and further ground-based MLEM surveys are underway to test if the conductive features continue along the interpreted structure.

At Rip N Tear, drilling consisted of 7 RC holes for 1,650m of drilling. Assays have only been received for 4 holes.

Talisman Mining is an Australian mineral explorer and developer focused on base and precious metals.

As of 30 September 2023, the company had $8.3 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
