Rua gets risk affairs in order

Rua Gold (TSX-V:RUA) has appointed Simon Delander as Vice President of Risk, Stakeholder, and Regulatory Affairs, marking a new role in the company’s executive team.

Delander will be working closely with CEO Robert Eckford to lead permitting activities at the company’s Reefton Project in New Zealand, as well as leading regulatory compliance, government and community relations, and environmental, social, and governance-related risk management.

He has more than 25 years of experience in the resources sector, focusing on regulatory affairs, stakeholder engagement, and risk governance.

Delander previously served as Vice President for privately held Endura Mining, as the company strengthened its stakeholder relationships.

He also worked at Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) and MMG (HKG:1208) in senior positions, while serving on the board of the New Zealand Minerals Council, the New Zealand Mine Rescue Trust, and Terra Firma Mining.

CEO Eckford says the company is thrilled to have Delander on board as the company accelerates stakeholder engagement for the Reefton Project.

“Simon’s proven ability to deliver in this area will ensure Rua Gold is well positioned to navigate the regulatory landscape, derisk our projects and deepen our relationships with stakeholders,” Eckford says.

“His appointment further enhances our capability to deliver long-term, sustainable value for both shareholders and the communities in which we operate.”

Rua Gold is a mineral explorer focused on advancing its portfolio of assets in New Zealand.
