PC Gold (ASX:PC2) has identified a third ‘high-grade’ target at its Spring Hill Gold Project in the Northern Territory, with channel sampling at the Southern Adit returning 20.35m @ 13.04 grams per tonne gold.
The Southern Adit target sits entirely outside the current mineral resource estimate (MRE) and represents the third ‘high-grade’ domain identified at the project, alongside the Main Adit and Link Zone areas. The 20.35m composite represents along-strike sampling of the mineralised vein rather than true width.
Historical channel sampling along the 190m Southern Adit development returned a maximum individual result of 74.8g/t gold (Au), with the composite intersection remaining open in all directions.
The adit lies 262m along strike south of the historical Main Adit, which produced 21,170 ounces at about 30g/t Au. Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) imagery indicates a further 150m of strike trending north towards the Main Adit and Middle Zone of the MRE.
Channel sampling inside the MRE also returned ‘higher grades’ than corresponding areas of the block model, suggesting potential for resource upgrades.
Executive Chairman Ashley Pattison says the discovery adds further exploration upside at Spring Hill.
“The Southern Adit represents our third high-grade domain of mineralisation at Spring Hill, with historical channel sampling returning 20.35m at 13.04g/t Au entirely outside the current MRE,” Pattison explains.
“Alongside the refurbishment of the Main Adit and ongoing extension drilling at Link Zone, we are effectively testing three high-grade domains across the project at once.”
The company says the ‘higher-grade’ domains offer potential for a higher blended grade to the plant and stronger production profile as it advances towards a Prefeasibility Study.
Other results from the Southern Adit include 61.2g/t Au over 1m, 40.45g/t Au over 1m, 37.3g/t Au over 1m, and 15.7g/t Au over 1m.
The Southern Adit target area remains untested by drilling. Spring Hill hosts a mineral resource of 43.6 million tonnes @ 1.1g/t Au for 1.5 million ounces.
The company expects to commence drilling at the target in late September as part of a broader exploration program aimed at adding ounces at both open pit and underground scale.
