Orezone Gold (TSX:ORE) has filed a technical report supporting the updated life-of-mine (LOM) plan for its Casa Berardi gold mine in Québec, Canada.
The report was previously released on 15 September, outlining the preliminary economics of the combined open-pit and underground operation.
As shown in the report, Casa Berardi is expected to produce an average of 116,000 ounces of gold annually over a 14-year mine life (2027–2040).
The production profile gives the asset an after-tax net present value of US$1.05 billion ($1.49 billion) at a 5% discount rate, under its base-case gold price assumption.
Orezone acquired Casa Berardi from Hecla Mining Company (NYSE:HL) for US$593 million earlier this year, adding a second producing mine to its portfolio.
“The result of the life-of-mine plan clearly underscores the opportunity and value proposition identified by Orezone in acquiring the Casa Berardi mine,” CEO Patrick Downey said when the report was released.
Orezone Gold is a Canadian gold producer operating the Casa Berardi mine in Québec and the Bomboré mine in Burkina Faso.
