Nimy Resources (ASX: NIM) has intersected semi-massive sulphides with nickel and native copper mineralisation from two diamond drill holes at the Godley prospect within its 100%-owned Mons Nickel Project in Western Australia.
pXRF analysis on drill core confirmed a 438m thick zone of ultramafic and mafic rocks containing nickel and copper sulphides from the second hole, and a 275m zone of nickel sulphides and nickel and copper mineralisation in the first hole.
Complete assays for both holes are pending.
Addressing the results Nimy Chairman, Simon Lill, said: “This is a highly promising start to our drilling campaign at Mons. We have now intersected nickel sulphides with nickel and copper mineralisation over substantial width in two holes.

These results provide strong evidence that Godley hosts a large mineralized system with potential for high-grade zones.”
The Company believes that these results provide strong evidence that a large mineralised system exists within the Mons Project, supporting potential for discovery of higher-grade zones.
In addition, the two diamond holes represent the first deep drilling carried-out at the project, and were commissioned to test the depth, orientation and mineralisation of earlier RC holes.

The 1,761km² Mons Nickel Project includes 30 targets and 6 target areas, and is located at the northern end of the Forrestania Nickel Belt, approximately 140km north-northwest of the mining centre of Southern Cross in Western Australia.
Nimy reports that it is moving forward with drilling 7km north at the project’s Dease target while it awaits sample results from both diamond drill holes at Godley.
Moving loop EM and downhole EM are also scheduled to be completed over the Godley target area in order to plan additional exploration campaigns.
