Nimy Resources (ASX:NIM) is set to commence extensive ground electromagnetic (EM) surveys across four high-priority prospects at its Mons Greenstone Belt Project in Western Australia, targeting base and precious metal mineralisation.
Designed and recommended by Newexco Exploration, the surveys build on initial drilling programs that showed prospectivity for volcanogenic hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) and magmatic sulphide mineralisation styles.
The EM program will target conductive sources previously identified via airborne EM datasets, exploration drilling, and extensive soil sampling across four key prospects: Masson, Sneaky Squirrel, Block 3, and Masson Northeast.
Drilling at Masson in August 2025 identified lenses of remobilised copper-nickel-platinum group element (PGE) mineralisation hosted within massive sulphides including chalcopyrite, pentlandite, and pyrrhotite.
Sneaky Squirrel features the strongest magnetic signature across the entire project and is considered prospective for copper-zinc-gold VHMS mineralisation.
At Block 3, Nimy has flagged complex sedimentary and volcanic rocks prospective for VHMS mineralisation, which is associated with the Mons gallium resource.
Finally, Masson Northeast surveying will focus on extensions and repeats of the drilled Masson magmatic massive mineralisation.
Across the project, Newexco has identified numerous anomalous horizons consistent with steeply dipping, conductive contacts — features that align with the successful initial drilling at these prospects.
Managing Director Luke Hampson says the ground EM program follows up on successful drilling and aligns with the evaluation pathway of the Mons Project.
“This comprehensive survey — spanning four prospect areas — will significantly de-risk our drill targeting and bring us closer to identifying economic mineralisation,” Hampson said.
The company plans to report results as the geophysical program progresses and initial drill targets are prioritised.
Located 370km northeast of Perth and 140km north-northwest of Southern Cross,, the Mons Project covers an estimated 80km by 30km area across 22 tenements at the northern end of the Forrestania greenstone belt.
