Nimy Resources (ASX:NIM) has shipped its first ‘high-grade’ gallium ore from its Block 3 gallium deposit in Western Australia to US partners, M2i Global for analysis on the most optimal pathway for processing.
M2i Global is a specialist company focused on the development of global value chains for critical minerals. Nimy and M2i established a strategic partnership in August 2025, a key milestone in Nimy’s international growth strategy, allowing them access to high-priority supply chain security initiatives.
The ore will be sent to several academic institutions and defense-related companies who will evaluate the refining processes needed to make the ore suitable for use in defense applications.
This analysis will allow Nimy to then consider different development and offtake options for its ore.
Managing Director Luke Hampson says that the first shipment is a major milestone for Nimy as the company looks to establish themselves as part of the Western critical minerals supply chain.
“Distributing the material to leading academic institutions and defense industrial base companies for refining analysis will accelerate our path to commercial production,” Hampson says.
“With ongoing expansion programs and a near-term, JORC-compliant resource, Nimy is well positioned to deliver reliable gallium supply to support global semiconductor and defense needs.”
Nimy’s Block 3 at the Mons Project has a JORC resource of 2,700 tonnes of contained gallium. The company is now focused on metallurgical work to prepare the gallium for strategic end uses.
Nimy Resources is an exploration company, focused on the development of the Mons Belt in Western Australia.
