Antipa appoints Warburton as non-executive director

Antipa Minerals (ASX:AZY) is welcoming Neil Warburton to the board as a non-executive director for his experience within the mining and resources sector spanning more than 45 years.

Warburton’s experience ranges from operational mine site roles to senior executive and board leadership roles across a range of Australian-listed and private mining companies.

He also held senior roles at Coolgardie Gold and acted as CEO for Perenti Global (ASX:PRN) subsidiary Barminco between 2007 and 2012, as the company advanced to become Australia and West Africa’s ‘largest’ underground hard rock mining contractor with more than 3,000 employees.

Warburton is currently acting as non-executive Chairman of Nimy Resources (ASX:NIM) and Belararox (ASX:BRX).

He holds an associate degree in Mining Engineering from the Western Australian School of Mines, as well as an Honorary Doctorate for his service to the mining and resources sector from Curtin University.

The company will issue Warburton or his chosen associate 600,000 options, valued at $0.83 per option to expire four years from issue.

Executive Chairperson Mark Rodda says the board is pleased to welcome Neil during a “pivotal” stage of Antipa’s growth.

“His exceptional leadership record, deep operational expertise and demonstrated ability to create value across the mining industry will provide valuable guidance as we continue to unlock the significant potential of our assets,” Rodda says.

“Neil’s experience will be particularly beneficial as we progress advanced study activities driving the Minyari Development to a final investment decision and onward towards future production.”

Antipa Minerals, which has a market capitalisation of $359.34 million, is currently focused on transitioning the Minyari Dome Gold-Copper Development Project in Western Australia to a producing site, as a greater mission to enhance its mineral resource base.
