Metalsource Mining (CSE:MSM) has reported ‘high-grade’ silver intercepts from step-out drilling at its Silver Hill Project in North Carolina, US.
Hole SH26-20 returned 9.57m @ 364 grams per tonne silver equivalent (AgEq), including 2.26m @ 913g/t AgEq. Hole SH26-21 intersected 15.3m @ 207g/t AgEq, including 2.4m @ 515g/t AgEq.
The drilling extends mineralisation to approximately 335m below surface and demonstrates the polymetallic system remains open at depth and along strike.
SH26-20 returned composite values up to 8.4g/t gold (Au), 47.9g/t silver (Ag), and 14.7% combined lead-zinc (Pb-Zn).
Designed as a down-dip step-out below SH26-20, SH26-21 returned higher lead values, including up to 7.3% Pb and 47g/t Ag, indicating the system may strengthen at depth.
CEO Joe Cullen says the company is beginning to understand distribution patterns within the deposit.
“Gold, silver, lead, and zinc at Silver Hill aren’t randomly distributed. We’re beginning to see patterns that can help us vector toward the higher-grade portions of the system. That’s a meaningful shift from finding mineralisation to understanding it,” Cullen notes.
“Importantly, the mineralised system also appears to be strengthening at depth, with SH26-21 returning a wider mineralised intercept as we continue stepping out down plunge.”
Silver Hill was America’s first silver-producing mine, operating from 1839 and producing silver, gold, lead, and zinc.
The property covers 1,225 acres (495.7 hectares) in Davidson County, North Carolina, with known mineralisation extending to 550m from surface in steeply trending lenses.
