Metal Hawk (ASX:MHK) is planning to launch a maiden lithium drilling program at its Yarmany Project in Western Australia.
The $7.87 million market capitalisation company says the aircore drilling is designed to define pegmatite geometry and establish the depth of weathering in the area and will be followed by deeper reverse circulation (RC) drilling.
A drilling contractor has been secured, and activities will begin as soon as site preparations are complete.
This news comes after the company recently conducted a mapping and geochemical sampling program that outlined a ‘large’ lithium pegmatite target with over 1km of strike length and up to 140m wide at the F-camp prospect within Yarmany.

Results from the program highlight elevated lithium and pathfinder geochemistry including caesium, tantalum, rubidium, and beryllium. This supports geological field observations and suggests a ‘strong’ potential for pegmatite-hosted lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) mineralisation.
Further, the company has signed a heritage agreement and completed a heritage clearance survey within the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Claimants over Yarmany.
Metal Hawk Managing Director Will Belbin says the company can proceed with its maiden drilling program given the ‘timely’ execution of the heritage agreement and survey work.
“We are very excited to start drilling this compelling pegmatite target developed by our expert lithium consultant Dr David ‘Rowdy’ Rawlings. The F-camp pegmatite is extremely weathered at surface and has potential scale and highly favourable geochemistry.
We also look forward to continuing regional exploration activities on the extensive tenement package.”

The Yarmany Project covers a 282km-square area with 50km of strike along the Ida Fault and lies 40km northwest of Coolgardie in Western Australia.
Metal Hawk is a Western Australian mineral explorer focused on early-stage discoveries of critical metals. The company has several assets across the Eastern Goldfields and the Albany Fraser regions.
As of 30 September 2023, the company had $1.1 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
