Metal Hawk begins RC drilling to test for nickel sulphides and gold at Berehaven Project

Western Australian mineral exploration company Metal Hawk (ASX:MHK) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling to test a number of nickel sulphide and gold targets along the western Commodore trend at the Berehaven Project.

In late 2021, Metal Hawk discovered ‘high-grade’ nickel sulphide at the Commodore prospect, in which the maiden RC drilling program intersected ‘massive’ sulphides grading 5.9% Ni.

Since this discovery, the company has focused on exploring the previously unidentified Commodore ultramafic trend which extends for several kilometres along the western portion of the Berehaven Project.

Commenting on the campaign, Metal Hawk Managing Director Will Belbin says: “As we continue our systematic exploration at Berehaven with this next phase of RC drilling, we look forward to testing a number of new nickel sulphide and gold targets generated from drilling in late 2022.”

The company states a follow-up RC drilling south of Commodore will be targeting several gold anomalies which were identified from recent aircore (AC) drilling.

The results include drillhole BVA289 with 5m @ 5.9g/t Au from 35m; BVA292 with 5m @ 1.6g/t from 40m; and BVA279 with 1m @ 1.5g/t Au from 72m to end of hole (EOH).

Metal Hawk reports these results are located less than 1.5km from the ‘high-grade’ gold discovered at Commodore in early 2022, which included BVD001 with 5.9m @ 6.7g/t Au from 244.4m; and BVD007 with 2.5m @ 7.4g/t Au from 255.4m.

Metal Hawk is a mineral exploration company focused on early-stage discovery of nickel sulphide and gold. The company owns a number of ‘quality’ projects in the Eastern Goldfields and Albany Fraser regions.

Metal Hawk has solidified over 90km-square of underexplored tenure at Berehaven, situated north of the Blair Nickel sulphide deposit.
