Maverick Gold and Silver complements team with appointment

Maverick Gold and Silver (CSE:MAV) has appointed Michael Leahy to the company’s board of directors, effective immediately, following Chris Farnworth’s resignation.

Leahy is a junior mining executive and corporate director with experience spanning mineral exploration, capital markets, corporate development, and geospatial technology. He currently holds director positions with Emergent Metals (OTCQB:EGMCF), Rex Resources (FRA:94GO), Bessor Minerals (TSX-V:BST), and eLife Minerals.

Through his combination of public company, operational, and technology experience, Leahy has developed a broad understanding of the technical, financial, and corporate considerations involved in advancing early-stage mineral explorers.

Maverick CEO Glen Watson says Leahy’s skills and experience provide a valuable perspective as the company advances.

“Michael understands both the capital markets and the technical processes involved in evaluating and developing exploration opportunities,” Watson says.

“We believe his experience and network will complement our existing team as Maverick moves into the next stage of its growth.”

Leahy adds that he is “excited” to join the company at a time when it has assembled a portfolio of assets across two of North America’s mining jurisdictions.

“Nevada and British Columbia offer exceptional geological potential, established mining infrastructure, and a long history of major discoveries,” he says.

Earlier this month, the company increased the size of its Silver Vista Project by 42%.

In British Columbia, Canada, Silver Vista now comprises 17 mineral claims and covers 6,444.5 hectares. The new claims cover two historical soil anomalies that appear to have received no further follow-up work.
