Junior explorer Marmota (ASX:MEU) has completed a diamond drilling program at its Aurora Tank Gold discovery in South Australia.
The company says all 10 holes that were re-drilled have been completed, and diamond core recoveries were ‘excellent’, with no holes abandoned.
Commenting on the completed program, Marmota Chairman Colin Rose says: “Marmota’s diamond drilling program at Aurora Tank was designed as a production-focused program, primarily to provide sufficient core/bulk samples to enable the metallurgical testing work that is required to advance Aurora Tank into production.
“This work is an essential component to transition Marmota’s gold discovery at Aurora Tank to production and another step now completed along that path”

Marmota adds that the targeted depth on all holes was reached or exceeded/extended where it was considered to be of geological interest.
Additionally, the company is staying on at Aurora Tank to complete the logging of the core prior to the core being sent off for metallurgical testing.
