Marmota expands Greenewood drilling to 26,000m

Marmota (ASX:MEU) is expanding its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Greenewood gold discovery to 26,000m across 289 holes.

The expanded stage three program increases from the previously announced initial 20,000m across 220 holes, maintaining an average depth of 90m. Drilling targets both the Greenewood zone and its southern extension, Mainwood.

Marmota expects stage three drilling to be completed by the end of August, with 223 holes completed to date comprising 90 in the Greenewood zone and 133 at Mainwood.

The program has extended the mineralised gold strike to over 2km across both zones.

Objectives of the drilling include extending Greenewood to the north and at depth, identifying contiguous ‘high-grade’ gold zones at Mainwood, growing the resource, and increasing drilling density to enable an indicated resource for an upcoming Scoping Study.

Chairman Colin Rose says Greenewood has been delivering “some of the best results” in the Gawler Craton since the discovery of Challenger in 1995.

He also notes the company intends to complete over 50,000m of RC drilling at Greenewood in 13 months, setting a new annual drilling record for Marmota.

“This program serves two primary roles: to continue the growth of the main Greenewood zone which has been yielding spectacular results and remains open in all directions; and to attack the southern extensions with our maiden drilling program there with the aim of identifying high-grade gold to the south too,” Rose says.

Greenewood and Mainwood lie 35km northwest of Marmota’s flagship Aurora Tank gold deposit and 30km northeast of the Challenger Gold Mine. The deposits are part of the Golden Moon joint venture, where Marmota holds 90% ownership through its wholly-owned subsidiary Half Moon.

The company commenced its maiden Scoping Study for the Gawler Gold Project in November 2025, with the expanded drilling program designed to support resource growth and classification upgrades.

Marmota is a mining explorer focused on gold, titanium, and uranium.
