ABx Group (ASX:ABX) will descend on the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney next week as part of its strategy to assemble a series of pieces to connect the company across the rare earths supply chain.
As CEO Dr Mark Cooksey explains to Mining.com.au, ABx hopes to grow existing relationships with investors, partners and suppliers, and to initiate new relationships at the event – from institutional investors to suppliers of services, to small exploration and mining companies.
“Irrespective of the macroeconomic landscape, it is always very important to initiate and grow relationships with investors, customers, suppliers and peers, and face-to-face is the most effective way to develop strong relationships,” Cooksey tells this news service.
“ABx has a unique rare earth project; an ionic adsorption clay rare earth resource in Australia, and this is recognised by the global rare earths industry.”
The emerging rare earths developer is working to produce a mixed rare earth carbonate (MREC) enriched in dysprosium and terbium – the two heavy rare earths with the highest value and most acute supply risk.
As reported by Mining.com.au, ABx is already undertaking due diligence and forming links with potential connections and various players across the supply chain.
To this end, the company is taking a measured approach to identify suitable customers to target while engaging other stakeholders interested in its Deep Leads project development journey.
ABx has identified a burgeoning market opportunity based on growing terbium and dysprosium demand and the limited new supply in the sector.
A crucial step in capturing market share is investigating and engaging relevant industry players along every stage of the supply chain starting from the ore mined at Deep Leads to prospective end users wanting to manufacture products containing the rare earths produced.
This commercial approach includes potentially establishing strategic partnerships with third parties, an opportunity Cooksey says IMARC offers.
Mining.com.au will again be in attendance at IMARC in Sydney being held on 29-31 October. Register here.
