Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has intersected “high-grade” silver-indium mineralisation in a recent infill diamond drilling campaign across the Orient West prospect of the greater Orient Silver-Indium Project ahead of an upcoming resource estimate.
Drillhole ORD002 recorded 11.94 metres at 160.8 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent from a depth of 137 metres, including 4.34 metres at 301.8g/t from 138.66 metres and 1.34 metres at 809.2g/t from the same depth.
Drillhole ORD003 intercepted 5 metres at 428.6g/t silver equivalent from 56 metres, including 2.8 metres at 737.3g/t from 57 metres and 0.83 metres at 1,838.4g/t from 58.4 metres.
The company expects to announce a JORC-compliant resource estimate for Orient West by the end of July through privately-held consultants, Mining One.
Meanwhile, Iltani is awaiting drilling results from the Orient East prospect, with a JORC-compliant resource estimate expected for completion in September 2025.
The company’s privately-held geophysical consultant, Mitre Geophysics, is modelling data received from the final versatile time domain electromagnetic survey to identify upcoming targets across the area.
Iltani will begin drilling identified targets by the end of July to test the lateral extensions by providing additional tonnes and grade.
Managing Director Donald Garner says Iltani is pleased with its findings in this drilling program as it validates the company’s belief that Orient could be the “largest and highest-grade” known silver-indium deposit in Australia.
“It is one thing seeing the mineralisation as chips in the RC drilling, but to see it in the diamond core gives us so much more insight into the mineralisation, how it was formed and the associated alteration. We can use this to better target our drilling activities going forward,” Garner says.
“The diamond core is orientated, giving us valuable structural information which we will use to better model the mineralisation. It also allows us to accurately measure the specific gravities of the mineralisation and the host rocks.”
Iltani Resources is a base metals and critical minerals explorer focused on supporting a low emission future at its portfolio of projects in Queensland and Tasmania.
The company will be attending the Noosa Mining Investor Conference, held between 23-25 July, at the Peppers Noosa Resort. Mining.com.au is an official media partner of this year’s conference.
