Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has returned multiple ‘high-grade’ silver intercepts from its latest drilling at the Orient Silver-Indium Project in Queensland, with standout results from hole ORR164.
ORR164 delivered two distinct mineralised zones. The upper zone returned 28m @ 95 grams per tonne silver (Ag), 7g/t indium (In), 2.1% lead (Pb), and 2.9% zinc (Zn) from 38m. Intercepts include 14m @ 176g/t Ag, 13g/t In, 3.9% Pb, and 5.3% Zn from 50m.
Within this, a ‘high-grade’ core returned 4m @ 323g/t Ag, 28g/t In, 7.1% Pb, and 10.2% Zn from 56m.
The lower zone returned 30m @ 38g/t Ag, 1g/t In, 0.7% Pb, and 1.1% Zn from 92m, including 1m @ 292g/t Ag, 8g/t In, 4.9% Pb, and 10.7% Zn from 98m.
Managing Director Donald Garner says the intercepts highlight the project’s potential.
“The intercepts in ORR164 are particularly impressive — delivering two wide intercepts of high-grade silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation with exceptional, high-grade massive sulphide mineralisation at the core,” Garner notes.
More silver from East and West
The infill program also delivered strong results from adjacent sections, with ORR166 returning standout intercepts as follows:
- ORR166 returning 20m @ 51g/t Ag, 9g/t In, 1.3% Pb, and 0.9% Zn from 64m, including 1m @ 458g/t Ag, 45g/t In, 11.4% Pb, and 3.1% Zn from 77m
- ORR160 returning 9m @ 66g/t Ag, 12g/t In, 1.7% Pb, and 1.7% Zn from 61m
- ORR162 returning 40m @ 20g/t Ag, 1g/t In, 0.5% Pb, and 0.6% Zn from 26m
At Orient West, hole ORR163 returned 7m @ 25g/t Ag, 11g/t In, 0.7% Pb, and 1% Zn from 20m.
Garner says that Orient West results may become ‘economically viable’ through ore-sorting technology, which the company is currently testing with TOMRA.
“If we can successfully utilise ore sorting at Orient, this mineralisation could well become economically viable as part of a future large-scale open-pit mining operation,” Garner adds.
The company has completed 81 reverse circulation holes totalling 15,485m from its planned 110-hole program. A diamond rig has commenced drilling to produce core for further metallurgical test work, including TOMRA ore-sorting studies.
The Orient Silver-Indium Project hosts a mineral resource of 62.5 million tonnes (Mt) @ 81.5g/t silver equivalent (AgEq), comprising Orient East (19.8Mt @ 98g/t AgEq) and Orient West (42.7Mt @ 73.8g/t AgEq).
Iltani also holds an exploration target of 35.9–43.3Mt @ 63.6–78.1g/t AgEq.
Iltani Resources is an explorer advancing silver, indium, and base metals projects across Queensland and Tasmania.
