Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has begun drilling at the Orient Silver-Indium Project in Herberton, North Queensland.
The company has completed its first drill hole of its planned 115 reverse circulation drilling program across 16,000 metres.
Drilling will be completed by two drill rigs, with the program intending to infill the Orient East and Orient West resources to better define mineralisation geometry and upgrade resource categories.
The program also intends to extend mineralisation along the two prospects to increase the current resources, further define mineralisation in the Link Zone, test other targets to determine geometry, width, and grade, as well as completing drill testing of VTEM targets.
Samples will be submitted for assaying in batches every three or four holes. First assay results are expected around the end of May or early June.
Managing Director Donald Garner says the first holes were completed over the weekend, marking the beginning of the 2026 drilling campaign.
“Now that the drilling is underway, it is going to be exciting to see what the drill rigs deliver, not only at Orient, but across the Herberton Project as we drill multiple exciting targets,” Garner says.
“We are confident that we can make up for the time we have lost and complete the drilling programs as designed.”
