Iltani eyes exploration target for Orient East

Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) is planning to progress an initial exploration target estimate for the Orient East prospect, part of the Orient Silver-Indium Project in Queensland, after completing a reverse circulation drilling program.

At Orient East, 25 reverse circulation holes were drilled, totalling 4,056m. The drilling program focused on targeting an area where there are multiple intersecting higher-grade vein systems with associated low-grade stockwork mineralisation, many at shallow depths, representing the potential to define an open pittable resource.

The company aims to gain a better understanding of the core area within Orient East.

At the Orient West prospect, seven reverse circulation holes were drilled, totalling 1,504m, as part of a resource infill drilling program. There are a further 42 holes to be drilled, covering the core area and southwest extension.

Iltani plans to resume drilling after the wet season at Orient West. Two drill rigs will be used to rapidly evaluate the mineralisation and complete the program.

Over 2,000 samples are still to be assayed at ALS Laboratories. All of the assays are expected to be received within six weeks of submitting the samples.

Once the results are received, the final drilling results from the Antimony Reward prospect will be used to complete the model of the target, which will then be used to plan the next steps of exploration.

The drilling results from both prospects will be used to update the geological models and block models. Once completed, an exploration target will be established for Orient East and a resource estimate released for Orient West.

Managing Director Donald Garner says once Orient East and West both have an exploration target, it will give the company a better understanding of the potential of Orient’s system.

“We will start to receive initial assay results shortly, and at periodic intervals over December and January,” Garner says.

“We are planning to get at least two drill rigs back on site to up the pace of the drilling and enable us to start testing the down dip extensions of the higher grade vein systems.”

Meanwhile, one hole for 118m was drilled at the Orient South area.

The Orient Project is part of the Herberton Project in Northern Queensland.

Iltani Resources is a base and critical metals explorer focused on building a portfolio of advanced projects in Queensland and Tasmania.
