Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) has received further ‘high-grade’ silver-indium results from its ongoing 110-hole drilling program at the Orient Silver-Indium Project in Far North Queensland.
Assays from holes ORR148 to ORR158 confirm mineralisation continuity at Orient West, with peak intersections as follows:
- 1m at 192 grams per tonne silver (Ag), 925g/t indium (In), 1.8% lead (Pb), and 13.9% zinc (Zn) — 1,390g/t silver equivalent (AgEq) — from 104m in ORR148
- 1m at 358g/t Ag, 213g/t In, 7.6% Pb, and 7.3% Zn — 1,092g/t AgEq — from 49m in ORR151
- 1m at 46g/t Ag, 811g/t In, 0.1% Pb, and 12.9% Zn — 1,080g/t AgEq — from 242m in ORR158
Broad mineralised zones were also intersected, including the following intersections:
- 17m at 37g/t Ag, 88g/t In, 0.5% Pb, and 1.5% Zn — 172g/t AgEq — from 97m in ORR148
- 6m at 93g/t Ag, 54g/t In, 2.0% Pb, and 2.7% Zn — 324g/t AgEq — from 47m in ORR151
“Orient West drilling continues to deliver, with the results for ORR148 to ORR158 intersecting multiple zones of silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation,” Managing Director Donald Garner says.
“With an increasing focus on the critical role of indium in high-technology applications, it is good to see the drilling continue to intersect high-grade massive sulphide indium-rich vein systems with a peak result of 1m at 192g/t Ag, 925g/t In, 1.8% Pb, and 13.9% Zn (1,390g/t AgEq) in ORR148.”
Infill drilling targets resource growth
Drill holes ORR148 to ORR151, ORR153, and ORR155 to ORR158 stepped out from the central Orient West area to the northeast to better define mineralisation at the extent of the Orient West mineral resource and test extensions. ORR152 and ORR154 tested extensions to the southwest.
Most holes were completed on 50m infill lines, intersecting ‘high-grade’ silver-lead-zinc-indium mineralisation on all sections. Holes ORR156, ORR157, and ORR158 tested veins five and six at shallow depth — relatively untested by previous drilling — with all holes intersecting mineralisation.
To date, Iltani has completed 65 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 12,297m at Orient West and East from the planned initial 110 holes. With samples submitted regularly and assays pending, the company expects a steady flow of results in the coming months.
Infill drilling will continue at Orient West to drill out the ‘High-Grade Core Area’ to 50m section spacing, followed by testing extensions to the northeast and southwest.
One rig is currently testing the southwest portion of a 900m strike extent of known mineralisation that remains largely untested.
With two RC rigs on site, infill drilling has commenced at Orient East. Further holes will later test the Link Zone between Orient East and Orient West, Vein 1, Orient North, and VTEM targets.
Orient hosts Australia’s largest known silver-indium deposit, with a mineral resource estimate of 34.2 million tonnes (Mt) at 110.4g/t AgEq, comprising 12.6Mt at 128g/t AgEq at Orient East and 21.6Mt at 100.5g/t AgEq at Orient West.
