GTI Energy (ASX:GTR) has appointed Matt Hartmann in the role of President of US Operations, to oversee the company’s technical and commercial activities in the region.
Matt Hartmann has 20-plus years experience of global mineral exploration, project development, and commercial experience, including a ‘significant’ track record in ISR uranium through the entire project life cycle.
GTI Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bruce Lane says Hartmann’s skills and experience, particularly with ISR uranium in Wyoming, are a ‘great’ fit for the company as GTI accelerates the growth and development of its ISR uranium resource.
“I have no doubt that Matt’s experience, skills, and network in both the technical and commercial arenas will contribute very positively to our efforts to grow GTI into a significant US uranium company.”
Hartmann says the company’s projects are well located within 100 miles of 7 permitted ISR uranium facilities in Wyoming, which is a ‘supportive’ state with a long history of uranium production.
“Over the past 3 years GTI has established itself in Wyoming and has assembled a portfolio of compelling uranium projects that would suggest the company is undervalued in the current US$100 per pound uranium market.
I look forward to further developing GTI’s assets in the US and advancing the Lo Herma project towards a preliminary economic assessment.”
Meanwhile, 42 drillholes remain permitted and undrilled at Lo Herma, which provides a set path to return to the field for further drill testing this year.
This permitting drilling program is being refined and may be augmented and expanded in due course prior to execution. The next phase at Lo Herma will be focused on expanding the resource areas and where possible, upgrading the current mineral resource classification.
GTI is currently developing a detailed 2024 exploration plan at Lo Herma and this will be integrated into the broader exploration program of all of its Wyoming projects.
As of 30 September 2023, the company had $2.740 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
