GTI Energy (ASX:GTR) will hold its annual general meeting on August 13, where shareholders will vote on the company’s rebranding to American Uranium.
As reported by Mining.com.au earlier this week, GTI intends to continue trading on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) under the new ticker code ‘AMU’ to reflect the name change.
Speaking with this news service, executive Director Bruce Lane says this name change reaffirms the company’s commitment to expanding the US’ uranium footprint.
“The name American Uranium Limited closely aligns with the company’s historical and future focus on developing our uranium projects in the US as the US nuclear renaissance gathers pace and the US domestic uranium mining sector continues its revival,” Lane tells Mining.com.au.
By implementing a more transparent name that aligns with the company’s focus, GTI expects current shareholders and potential investors to recognise its strategy and purpose more clearly.
Lane adds that this rebranding does not intend to alter future decision making, but realigns its operations to its name.
GTI Energy intends to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by generating clean fuel at its assets.
