Godolphin Resources (ASX:GRL) has launched a follow-up soil sampling program at its Copper Hill East Project in New South Wales, following the discovery of a new copper-gold anomaly at the Spring Creek prospect.
Previous grab samples collected over the Spring Creek area returned up to 2.8 grams per tonne gold and 0.47% copper. These were followed up with 18 orientation soil samples, spaced at 25m.
Managing Director Jeneta Owens says the work to date has enhanced the prospectivity of the area and Copper Hill East more broadly.
“Importantly, the Copper Hill East Project contains the same Ordovician volcanic rocks hosting both the giant Cadia copper-gold porphyry mine and the large Boda/Kaiser copper-gold porphyry project,” Owens says.
“A follow-up detailed grid pattern soil sampling program has commenced, with the objective of defining a drill target, and we look forward to providing additional updates once collecting the samples has been completed and assay results are received.”
Godolphin expects to complete the survey in the coming weeks and will provide further updates once assays are received. These results will be reviewed to form the basis of a potential maiden drilling campaign at Spring Creek.
The Spring Creek prospect sits in the north-east of Copper Hill East, and overlaps with a dominant north-northwest striking magnetic feature known as the Narangal Thrust.
Godolphin Resources will be presenting on the second day of the Vertical Events 2024 Gold Coast Investment Showcase, being held on 19 and 20 June at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa in Queensland.
