EV Resources begins diamond drilling at Los Liros

EV Resources (ASX:EVR) has begun its maiden diamond drilling program at the Los Liros Antimony Project in Mexico as the company follows up historical intercepts.

The company is conducting an initial 1,500-2,000m of drilling, designed to test targets with known antimony mineralisation and historical artisanal workings, with assay results expected within 6-8 weeks.

CEO Mike Brown says this project is a ‘major milestone’ for the company, with surface sampling delivering ‘high-grade’ results.

“We are hopeful that we are close to finalising with the laboratory an optimised assay procedure to ensure that the high content of stibnite mineralisation is reported with the highest degree of confidence,” he says.

“With the company fully funded, we look forward to delivering solid news flow to shareholders over the coming months.”

The initial outcome focuses on an initial 900m of strike that extends for 6km on the main Lirios fault zone, with the company following-up for additional targets.

EV is working with ALS Laboratories to refine and establish assay protocols to ensure repeatability for samples initially reported overlimit.

As reported by Mining.com.au, this campaign acts as the company’s first step towards delivering a maiden JORC-compliant resource.

EV notes the introduction of new techniques following compromised samples due to high antimony and sulphur content of abundant stibnite, leading to lost samples.

The company is trialling a third overlimit procedure as well. EV Resources says the approach is expected to reduce potential volatility or precipitation-related variables.

The method involves initial oxidising fusion using lithium borate flux, followed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis.

EV Resources is a critical minerals exploration and development company, focused on advancing production potential and delivering long-term scale.
