EV Resources secures drilling contractor for Los Lirios

EV Resources (ASX:EVR) has engaged Perforaciones Mineras Estrella to undertake drilling at its Los Lirios Antimony Project in Mexico, to conduct a minimum of 1,000m of diamond drilling, supply equipment, and mobilise on site immediately.

The company intends to conduct between 1,500-2,000m of drilling in this phase one campaign, targeting antimony mineralisation beneath historical workings at the Lirios Fault Zone.

Drilling will focus on shallow testing between 70-100m of structural veins and carbonate replacement targets.

EV says this campaign will act as the company’s first step to delivering a maiden JORC-compliant resource at the project, pushing it towards near-term production.

CEO Mike Brown says the drilling campaign represents Los Lirios’ first drilling test as a critical step to unlock its “broader potential”.

“Although we have been frustrated by delays in reporting sampling we are extremely confident of both the controls and expected tenor of the massive antimony mineralisation observed at Los Lirios,” Brown says.

“The issues delaying the assays from rock chips stem from finding the right assaying methodology for samples with significant stibnite present.

“Although a test of patience, it is a nice challenge to face, and importantly this has allowed us to ensure we have the most appropriate analysis methodology being applied for when drilling samples are sent for assaying.

“Our geological work to date has provided a strong structural and lithological framework, pointing to the Lirios Fault Zone and associated replacement horizons as compelling targets.”
