Emerald Resources to expand Okvau’s underground resource

Emerald Resources (ASX:EMR) is set to expand the underground resource at the Okvau Gold Mine in Cambodia, as part of the Okvau mine resource and reserve update.

Since the previous resource and reserve update in August 2024, 17,580m of reverse circulation and diamond drilling has been completed. The drilling was designed to infill existing data and extend the mineralisation down dip and along strike.

The current Okvau Gold Mine resource is 12.53 million tonnes at 2.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for 965,000 ounces of gold. The total reserve estimate is 10.29 million tonnes at 1.66g/t gold for 548,000 ounces of gold.

Emerald Resources, which has a market capitalisation of $2.63 billion, says drilling remains ongoing with the aim to extend the Okvau Mine resources and reserves.

Managing Director Morgan Hart says the resource and reserve update continues to support the company’s view that resources will be replenished on an ongoing basis with continued drilling to extend the current pit shell, below pit for underground potential, and near mine prospects.

“In addition, Emerald has ramped up exploration and development at its two 100% owned projects, the Dingo Range Gold Project in Western Australia and the Memot Gold Project in Cambodia, with updated resources for both projects on track for the second half of calendar 2024.”

Emerald Resources is a developer and explorer focused on gold and its assets in Australia and Cambodia. Its Cambodian projects cover a 1,428km2 area.
