Elementos’ ASX push comes amid industrial materials rush

Elementos (ASX:ELT) jumped 7.61% in intraday trading today (6 October) on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) as the bourse and its materials sector rose.

Industrial metals higher on ASX

The S&P/ASX 200 is up 49.3 points, equating to a 0.57% rise today in afternoon trading, with a 0.91% increase to the materials sector alone.

Of the 11 sectors categorised on the ASX, nine are trading higher. Mining companies leading the index include Liontown (ASX:LTR) and Alcoa (ASX:AAI), which is a major US bauxite mining company with interests in alumina refining and aluminium manufacturing.

Alcoa is trading higher as the aluminium price jumped 0.90% earlier today, making a rebound after a declining month with a 5.62% decrease.

Meanwhile, Trading Economics has reported other industrial metals to be performing lower, such as tin — though that’s not stopping tin explorer and developer Elementos.

The price of tin decreased 0.59% on 2 October, though it is still performing 44.21% higher year over year.

Small caps, big moves

Attention on Elementos has pushed its share price up $0.034 to trade at $0.495 per share, after it closed at $0.46 per share yesterday.

With 438.3 million shares on issue, the company has a market capitalisation of $201.62 million.

The company’s share price has seen a significant increase since early to mid-September 2026.

As the price of tin has primarily rallied over the last year and Elementos is pushing to bring its Oropesa Project online, the market seems to have its eyes on the company.

The Oropesa Project is located 150km north of Seville within Spain’s Andalucía region and is forecast to produce 3,405 tonnes of contained tin each year over a 12-year mine life.

Elementos is focused on establishing a fully integrated European mine-to-metal tin supply chain through this project and has a stake in Iberian Smelting.

The company recently satisfied conditions under its option agreement to acquire up to 50% of Iberian Smelting, providing access to the Robledollano tin smelting and refining facility in Spain.

Elementos is a tin explorer focused on developing its assets in Australia and Spain.
