Eclipse Metals (ASX:EPM) is progressing the Grønnedal Rare Earths Project in Greenland, with the preliminary metallurgical testwork program having commenced to assess wet high-intensity magnetic separation (WHIMS) properties.
The metallurgical testwork is sampling seven composites from previously collected project material and has been submitted to ALS Laboratories in Perth. The samples vary in weight between 1.25 and 4.5kg and were obtained from representative areas of the Grønnedal deposit.
Eclipse explains the WHIMS processing technique as one used to separate magnetic and weakly magnetic materials from non-magnetic materials by applying high magnetic field strengths through a matrix.
In Eclipse’s program, stage testing is being used to generate discrete magnetic and non-magnetic fractions for assay, enabling the company to quantify and assess the rare earth element properties.
Eclipse also has confirmed that samples from the 2025 Greenland drilling program have been dispatched for analytical work, with the shipment expected at ALS Laboratories in January 2026.
The company expects additional results from its ongoing laboratory program in the near term and will provide updates as datasets are received, compiled, and reviewed.
