Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX:KAL) has launched a new reverse circulation drill program at its Pinjin Project, 140km northeast of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
A rig sourced from Kalgoorlie has been mobilised, and the first hole is expected to be drilled on 22 April 2026.
Focused infill and extensional drill holes spanning 6.8km will target the Lighthorse prospect (19 holes spanning 3.2km), as well as the Kirgella Gift and Providence gold deposits (22 holes spanning 3.6km).
The site has an inferred mineral resource estimate of 2.34 million tonnes at 1 gram per tonne of gold for 76,000 ounces. There is potential for further selective drilling to extend gold mineralisation in northerly and westerly directions.
Sub-Audio Magnetic magnetometric conductivity technology could also be used to test extensions towards the north coincident area.
The entire reverse circulation drill program is expected to take about six weeks to complete.
Diamond drilling is also planned at the Kirgella Gift deposit and first-pass aircore drilling at a Laverton tectonic zone distinct flexure in the east.
Kalgoorlie Gold Mining earlier submitted five new exploration licence applications in the southern Laverton tectonic zone.
These applications were hoped to support a long-term expansion of the Pinjin Project.
The company estimates that applications are approved between 12 and 18 months after lodgement.
Meanwhile, recent aircore drilling program samples from the Lighthorse prospect are progressing through laboratory analysis.
The company has $130,000 of co-funding under the state government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) for diamond drilling at Kirgella Gift and Providence.
Planning of the program, comprising four holes for 1,070m, is well underway. IES funding was available until 30 November 2025. Several drilling contractors have expressed interest in the program, with work originally scheduled for Q3 of 2025.
Kalgoorlie Gold Mining is a gold exploration company in Western Australia’s Goldfields-Esperance region.
