Kalgoorlie Gold Mining Central Yandal Project in Western Australia

Kalgoorlie Gold stakes a bigger Yandal claim

Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX:KAL) has secured 15 tenements covering 23.7km² in Western Australia’s Yandal Belt.

The package comprises 14 prospecting licences and one exploration licence, positioned immediately southeast and along strike from the historic Gourdis and Vause gold mines. Ten tenements are granted, while five remain in application.

The Central Yandal Gold Project sits along strike from Northern Star Resources’ (ASX:NST) Jundee gold mining centre to the north and the Bronzewing gold mine to the south.

Jundee has an estimated 10-million-ounce gold endowment, while Bronzewing has a historic endowment of at least 4 million ounces.

“We are excited to have successfully acquired a highly prospective tenement package with a large footprint in the northern Eastern Goldfields,” Managing Director Matt Painter says.

“This acquisition reflects KalGold’s disciplined approach to securing prospective ground in the right location and at the right cost. The new tenure covers an untested segment of the Yandal Belt, immediately south along structural strike from established gold mines.”

Historic exploration across the tenure package is minimal. Approximately 110 drill holes have been completed between 1998 and 2025, with four tenements having no recorded drilling at all.

Available drilling comprises 87 aircore holes totalling 4,492m, 22 rotary air blast holes for 720m, and a single 202m reverse circulation hole.

Building the Yandal pipeline

The project area covers approximately 15km of strike along the northwest-trending structural corridor that hosts the Gourdis and Vause gold mines.

Painter says the acquisition “does not represent a change in company focus”.

“Drilling is ongoing at Pinjin, where systematic exploration to effect significant discovery continues at Lighthorse, Kirgella Gift, Providence, and other targets,” he adds.

The company will progress with a detailed assessment and modelling across the project area, including compilation of available datasets, acquisition of high-resolution aeromagnetic and radiometric data, and regolith field mapping.

Kalgoorlie Gold maintains its primary focus on the Pinjin Gold Project in the Laverton Tectonic Zone, where drilling continues to systematically test ‘high-quality’ targets.

The company has defined a total gold resource exceeding 214,000 ounces across its portfolio, including 76,400 ounces at Pinjin’s Kirgella Gift and Providence deposits and 138,000 ounces at the La Mascotte deposit within the Bulong Taurus Gold Project.
