Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX:KAL) extends gold mineralisation beyond the current resource at the Kirgella Gift and Providence deposits within its Pinjin Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company completed 21 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 3,702m across the deposits during April and May. Drilling intersected shear-hosted mineralisation within altered ultramafic rocks, with zones of alteration, sulphides, and veining measuring up to 38m thick.
Kirgella Gift and Providence have a combined inferred mineral resource of 2.34 million tonnes at 1 gram per tonne gold (Au) for 76,400 ounces.
At Kirgella Gift, hole KGRC26008 returned 28m @ 1.15 g/t Au from 20m, including 4m @ 2.08g/t Au, within a broader envelope of 38m @ 0.89g/t Au from 19m.
Drilling at Providence returned 13m @ 1.54g/t Au from 44m in KGRC26016, including 2m @ 3.71g/t Au. Hole KGRC26018 intersected 7m @ 1.39g/t Au from 160m, including 4m @ 2.04g/t Au.
All deep down-dip holes at Providence intersected mineralisation below the current resource. The company says the results correlate with previous drilling and remain open at depth.
However, results north of Kirgella Gift were generally subdued, while two holes testing the gap between the deposits returned no significant mineralisation. Kalgoorlie Gold interprets the results as indicating mineralisation pinches out at shallow depths across about 140m of strike between the deposits.
CEO Matt Painter highlights the gold deposits at Kirgella Gift and Providence continue to show potential.
“Several holes returned broad zones of gold mineralisation enclosing higher grade intercepts at the southern end of Kirgella Gift and at Providence at depth,” CEO Matt Painter says.
Kalgoorlie Gold is incorporating the results into its datasets before planning further work, which is expected to include drilling beneath both deposits.
The company says it is also conducting up to 10,750m of aircore drilling at the Laverton Tectonic Zone Flexure target and plans up to 3,200m of RC drilling at the Lighthorse gold prospect, with results pending.
