PC Gold (ASX:PC2) reports ‘high-grade’ infill drilling results from its Spring Hill Gold Project in the Northern Territory that outperform local model expectations across all three mineralised zones.
The company says five diamond drill holes returned ‘significant’ intercepts from the Link Zone, Hong Kong lode, and Main Zone South, targeting areas of elevated grade within the existing mineral resource estimate (MRE).
Drilling at the Link Zone, which remains open along strike and at depth, delivered ‘standout’ results, including 2m @ 8 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 189m, 234% above the locally modelled intercept of 2.4m @ 2.39g/t Au.
Other key intercepts include 2.97m @ 6.13g/t Au from 149.61m, 80% above the locally modelled intercept of 3m @ 3.41g/t Au; and 3m @ 4.86g/t Au from 298m, 54% above the locally modelled intercept of 1m @ 3.15g/t Au.
PC Gold has also confirmed Link-style mineralisation in both the upper and lower portions of the current MRE, supporting the continuity and scale of the structure at depth.
Executive Chairman Ashley Pattison says the results are a ‘strong’ endorsement of PC Gold’s infill strategy at Spring Hill.
“Drilling in all three zones has returned grades well above local model expectations while confirming the continuity and scale of the mineralised system,” Pattison says.
“The drilling is aiming to convert previously inferred resources into indicated resources and to additionally define mineralisation within gaps that haven’t been tested within the optimised pit shell.”
The Hong Kong lode returned broad mineralised zones containing multiple ‘higher-grade’ internal intervals. Key intercepts yielded 10.4m @ 3.53g/t Au from 142.2m and 26.1m @ 1.62g/t Au from 183m, including 5.7m @ 3.12g/t Au from 185m; and 30.5m @ 1.7g/t Au from 173m, including 7m @ 2.94g/t Au from 189m, and 37m @ 1.1g/t Au from 209m.
Meanwhile, Main Zone South drilling returned 8.3m @ 6.98g/t Au from 353m, as well as 4.5m @ 4.5g/t Au from 131.8m and 3m @ 7.5g/t Au from 144m.
More drilling planned for resource expansion
According to PC Gold, eight additional holes have been completed targeting the Link Zone with assays pending. Two diamond rigs are also continuing resource enhancement drilling, while a third diamond rig and reverse circulation rig are targeting potential extensions beyond the current MRE.
The company has identified several steps to enhance the MRE grade and tonnes ahead of the next resource update, including infill drilling the northern portion of the Link Zone to 50m by 50m spacing.
Specific gravity test work is also being conducted on 426 Link Zone samples to assess potential underreporting of density and further tonnage upside.
PC Gold intends to incorporate new drilling into the ongoing resource model developed by Cube Consulting, with the updated MRE targeted for late 2026.
Spring Hill hosts a resource of 43.6 million tonnes @ 1.1g/t Au for 1.5 million ounces of Au, with environmental approvals in place to commence open pit mining and underground refurbishment.
