Danakali (NSX:DNK) has identified several rare earth element anomalies and sites of mineralisation within the recently granted Errida Creek tenements E52/4503 and 4504 in Western Australia’s Gascoyne region.
An aeromagnetic and radiometric survey shows multiple “circular and arcuate anomalies”. The detailed 100 metre flight line spacing data indicates known characteristics of ultramafic, alkaline mantle intrusives and dyke/blow complexes in “abundant strongly magnetic” east-west trending Proterozoic dolerite dyke.
The company believes the occurrence of mantle-derived alkaline rock types at Mount Gould suggests the region is “prospective” for carbonatite-style intrusives, which are highly prospective for rare earth elements, nickel, copper, and platinum group elements mineralisation.
Previous exploration identified ultramafic and alkaline intrusive rock types. No historical exploration of magnetic anomalies within the tenements E52/4503 is recorded.
“The new high–quality geophysical data supplied by the Geological Survey has contributed to a much greater understanding of this underexplored region on the northern border of the Yilgarn Craton,” Danakali Executive Chairman Seamus Cornelius says.
“The Errida Creek Project is prospective for multiple styles of rare earth elements mineralisation, and we now have many priority targets to explore across the project. We look forward to getting out on the ground this field season and exploring a range of projects that Danakali is steadily developing.”
Danakali plans to conduct satellite image processing (Sentinel-2) to help differentiate rock types in the Errida Creek catchment, field map, and sample the site. Initial field investigations will include geological mapping, rock chip sampling, and portable x-ray fluorescence analysis. There is also potential for soil sampling where regolith or outcrop permits.
