Danakali reveals Orson’s gold-copper anomalies

Danakali (NSX:DNK) has unveiled a coincident gold-copper anomalism from reconnaissance soil sampling at the Orson Project in Western Australia.

The company conducted reconnaissance soil sampling across selected magnetic targets, completing the campaign in June 2026.

The northern-most magnetic targets returned soil samples to a maximum of 76.3 parts per billion (ppb) gold and 272 parts per million (ppm) copper.

Danakali says the “significance of the copper-gold anomalism is readily confirmed” when these results are compared with an extensive soil sampling campaign conducted across the region by Krakatoa Resources (ASX:KTA) in 2023.

Krakatoa and Danakali used identical sample collection and assay methods in the same region.

The soil anomalism is potentially related to mafic intrusives associated with the identified magnetic anomalies.

The copper-gold soil anomalies and interpreted intrusives occur within the Errabiddy Shear Zone on the margin of the Yilgarn Craton. Danakali says the anomalies and intrusives could be associated with concealed large-scale structures.

The company plans to conduct infill and follow-up soil sampling in late October 2026.

Executive Chairman Seamus Cornelius says defining a significant copper-gold soil anomalism in the first phase of field work at Orson is “very encouraging”.

“The project was pegged by Danakali to test the potential of this underexplored craton margin,” Cornelius says.

“Since pegging, there has been significant gold exploration success by Benz Mining [ASX:BNZ] at the Glenburgh and Hibernian gold camps to the west and north.”

Benz Mining has confirmed an exploration target between 10 and 12 million ounces of gold at its Glenburgh Project. Benz holds a significant portion of tenure in the Errabiddy Shear Zone, surrounding Danakali’s Orson Project.

“We look forward to expanding our field programs in the coming year and comprehensively evaluating this highly prospective and underexplored region,” Cornelius adds.

Meanwhile, Danakali is awaiting receipt of a thin section of petrography from selected intrusive rock samples.

The company will conduct field mapping of soil anomalies and remaining magnetic targets in the near future.

Danakali is a precious metals and critical minerals exploration and development company focused on assets in Australia and the Arabian-Nubian Shield.
