Carnavale Resources (ASX:CAV) has begun a 6-hole diamond drilling (DD) program at the Kookynie Gold project located in Western Australia as it works toward a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS).
The company has contracted Terra Drilling to provide DD services to start the detailed metallurgical drilling program.
CEO Humphrey Hale says the company has been busy since the start of 2026 preparing for the extensive drilling campaigns that have started at the Kookynie Gold Project.
“With co-operation from WTAC representing the Nyalpa Pirinku people, we were able to complete heritage surveys across the proposed development area and clear the required drill pads for all of the planned BFS drilling programs,” Hale says.
“This enables Carnavale to fast-track the BFS and bring the KGP to a shovel ready project by Q3 this year.”
The company says drilling will comprise the six diamond drill holes already underway and eight geotechnical diamond holes to inform slope assumptions on the Swiftsure and Tiptoe open pits.
Infill reverse circulation (RC) drilling will cover 9,000m with the aim to convert indicated to measured resources to help de-risk the resources and the BFS.
The BFS is expected to be completed in Q3 2026, delivering a de-risked, ‘high-grade’, and shovel ready initial open pit mining plan, with additional underground opportunity.
The Kookynie Gold Project is located 60km south of Leonara and 180km north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
Carnavale Resources is a mineral exploration company, focused on exploration and development projects in gold, nickel, platinum group elements, and strategic minerals.
