Carnavale Resources Kookynie Gold Project

Carnavale achieving up to 99.5% gold recovery at Kookynie

Based on new testwork results, Carnavale Resources (ASX:CAV) will continue metallurgical work for its Swiftsure deposit, as part of the Kookynie Gold Project in Western Australia.

Upcoming testwork activities will include additional leach testwork on multiple composite samples representing the variability in gold grade, ore type, and depth profile throughout the Swiftsure deposit.

Carnavale Resources, which has a market capitalisation of $13.69 million, engaged with Independent Metallurgical Operations (IMO) to follow-up previous Leachwell testwork that indicated outstanding gold recoveries could be achieved at Kookynie.

IMO conducted a program of testwork on samples of mineralised material that represents the “high-grade” zones within the Swiftsure deposit.

The latest testwork results achieved high overall gold recovery rates ranging between 98.9% and 99.5%, as well as high recovery of gravity gold averaging 87.1%.

Carnavale reports the testwork also achieved high 99.7% recovery from carbon in leach test, as well as rapid leach kinetics showing 90.6% to 91.6% recovery after four hours of leaching.

CEO Humphrey Hale says the improvement in recovery upgrades the profitability of the deposit and confirms the results of earlier Leachwell testing.

“The testwork has delivered exceptional results with the latest results revealing an enviable more than 99% gold recovery with the easily recovered gravity portion representing about 87%,” Hale says.

“These testwork results support the geologist’s observations of abundant course free milling gold in the drill chips.”

The Kookynie Gold Project lies 60km south of Leonora and 150km north of Kalgoorlie in the Yilgarn Craton of Western Australia. The project covers 50km2, comprising two exploration licences and three prospecting licences.

Carnavale Resources is a Western Australian-based mineral explorer focused on acquiring and exploring projects prospective for gold, nickel, platinum group elements, and strategic minerals.
