Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) has reported infill drilling results from the Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit, including 226m @ 3.11 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 284m.
The company received assay results from reverse circulation and diamond core drilling at the deposit, part of the 2.9-million-ounce @ 1.3g/t Au Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia.
Infill drilling targeted areas identified for potential underground mining in ongoing Prefeasibility Study (PFS) workstreams, with visible gold observed throughout significant intersections.
Results include 225.7m @ 3.11g/t Au from 284m in hole TMHRCD26006A, including 19m @ 24.3g/t Au from 306m, with 1m @ 449g/t Au from 322m.
Hole TMHRCD26004 returned 194m @ 2.1g/t Au from 286m, including 13m @ 4.35g/t Au from 322m, with 0.8m @ 53.6g/t Au from 324.2m.
The Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit hosts a current mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 14.6 million tonnes @ 1.6g/t Au for 731,000 ounces.
Managing Director Alex Rovira says the results continue to demonstrate the broad widths of the deposit and the ‘high-grade’ nature of quartz veining within the host tonalite.
“These infill results are hugely encouraging for a potential future underground mining operation at Two Mile Hill, which is currently being assessed by Brightstar and Entech for inclusion in the upcoming pre-feasibility study,” Rovira notes.
Prior to the recent discovery of the more than 300m-wide Shirvington Zone at depth, Two Mile Hill had already been identified as a potential large-scale underground mining operation, targeted to complement proposed open pit mining in Sandstone.
The infill drilling increases geological confidence, with results to be incorporated into the next MRE update and PFS, both targeted for release in November 2026.
The program comprised six reverse circulation (RC) holes for approximately 1,500m, 22 RC pre-collars with diamond tails for approximately 10,800m, and two diamond holes for approximately 300m.
Assays remain pending for two diamond tails totalling approximately 1,014m.
