Brightstar Resources shines with future drilling plans at Cork Tree Well Project, WA

Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) has flagged its future drilling plans as it works to define the limits of open mineralisation at its Cork Tree Well Project in Western Australia.

The company reports that future drill campaigns will incorporate diamond drilling to support metallurgical and geotechnical studies to progress the project towards potential mining operations.

Brightstar has received the final assays from a recently completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the project, which will be incorporated into an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for Cork Tree Well.

The updated MRE will underpin the Scoping Study that is currently underway, which is assessing the restart of the Brightstar Processing Plant, located in Laverton.

Brightstar reports that the majority of the assays received so far are outside of the current 252,000-ounce (oz) JORC Resource and confirm upside both along strike and at depth.

The company reports the ‘significant’ gold assays received include hole BTRRC184 with 10m @ 4.5g/t Au from 192, including 2m @ 17.23g/t Au from 194m; and hole BTRRC200 with 2m @ 11.81g/t Au from 172m.

Commenting on the latest assays and future plans, Brightstar Resources Managing Director Alex Rovira says: “It is pleasing to see continued high-grade results returned from the RC drilling program at Cork Tree Well.

The extensional and infill drilling was designed to identify mineralisation outside of the current JORC MRE of 5.6 million tonnes @ 1.4g/t Au for 252,000oz and within areas requiring increased drilling density, in an endeavour to grow the MRE and increase the confidence category in sections of the model to underpin the mining scoping studies underway.

“Encouragingly, the assays received continue to highlight the mineralisation is still open at depth and along strike…”

Encouragingly, the assays received continue to highlight the mineralisation is still open at depth and along strike, and drill planning is currently underway to continue exploration at Cork Tree Well to further expand the limits to the mineralisation.”

The Cork Tree Well Project is located about 35km north of Laverton on the Bandya Station Road and is serviceable via an unsealed track 2km west of the Bandya Road.

Brightstar Resources is an emerging ASX-listed gold development company based in the Laverton region of Western Australia, an internationally renowned gold province. The company is currently undertaking a 3-year strategic plan of returning the Brightstar Plant to production and expanding its mineral resource through brownfields exploration.
