Initial assay results from channel sampling at Advance Metals’ (ASX:AVM) Augustus Project in Arizona, US, have recorded up to 116 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
Mapping and sampling have also confirmed the potential for widespread gold and copper, with channel samples across the vein turning 0.5m @ 116.7g/t gold; 0.5m @ 38.3g/t gold; 1m @ 20g/t gold; and 2m @ 11.8g/t gold.
Advance says mapping results, subsequent sampling program results, and 3D modelling are still being finalised, and will be reported once complete.
The company is also planning further drilling, subject to satisfying all requisite approvals. Metallurgical studies, trenching, and sampling will also be conducted at the project, as part of its continued efforts to develop Augustus.
As part of the 2024 program, Advance Metals collected rock chip samples, including channel samples across and along outcropping veins, grab samples in veins and stockworks.
Channel samples were taken across and through veins at numerous different locations. The historical producing areas and old workings are considered “high-value target areas” that have been methodically sampled to understand the geochemistry in previously inaccessible areas.
Advance Metals assayed 48 elements plus gold. The company notes the channel samples across the being highlight “significant” mineralised veins and stockworks starting at surface.
The Augustus Project is a copper-gold advanced exploration and development asset that lies in Yavapai County, Arizona. The project covers 2,229 acres and resides 125km northwest of Phoenix.
Advance Metals is a battery and base metals-focused explorer with a portfolio of copper and gold growth projects. The company holds two projects in Arizona and Idaho in the US.
