Yandal Resources confirms fresh rock gold mineralisation at Flushing Meadows

Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) has reported “significant deep gold intercepts” from its inaugural diamond drilling program at the Flushing Meadows deposit within its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

Assay results from the first diamond hole returned a primary intercept of 11.3m @ 1.10 grams per tonne gold from 214.3m, including 3.6m @ 2.50g/t gold from 222m.

Additional deep intercepts from the same hole include 0.4m @ 3.10g/t gold from 266m; 1.9m @ 2.00g/t gold from 280.3m; and 2.9m @ 0.50g/t gold from 290.8m.

According to the company, the results demonstrate that fresh rock gold mineralisation occurs within deformed and altered iron-rich sediments, with higher grades linked to veining within the units.

It also notes the presence of multiple sub-parallel iron-rich sedimentary units relative to the broader Flushing Meadows trend, which can potentially expand the scale of the deposit beyond its current 1.9km striking resource estimate.

Managing Director Chris Oorschot says the diamond drilling provides the “first clear picture” of primary mineralisation within the system.

“The results from diamond drilling will enable the geology team to define the key components and geometries of the mineral system,” Oorschot says.

“By modelling and extrapolating these components, we will be able to identify along-strike, at-depth, and sub-parallel exploration targets for further drilling beyond the 1.9km-striking shallow mineral resource.”

Yandal Resources notes the framework diamond drilling program at Flushing Meadows, comprising eight holes spaced 200m apart over 1.6km of strike for a total of 3,305m, is now complete.

Further results from the remaining seven holes are expected throughout July.

Concurrently, the company has finished the first two lines of aircore drilling across the Flushing Meadows and Giedi Prime target areas, with assay results also anticipated next month.

Follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling is scheduled to be completed in the coming weeks to test mineralisation continuity beneath previous RC pre-collar intercepts.

The company maintains a ‘strong’ cash position as it continues exploration into the second half of 2026.

Yandal Resources’ 100%-owned Ironstone Well-Barwidgee project covers approximately 370km2 between the Jundee and Bronzewing mines in the northern Yandal Greenstone Belt with an established 268,000-ounce resource at Flushing Meadows.

The company holds a portfolio of advanced gold exploration projects in the Yandal and Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belts of Western Australia.
