Yandal finds shallow gold at Siona

Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) has reported reverse circulation (RC) drilling results from the Siona prospect within its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

The nine-hole program targeted shallow gold mineralisation southwest of the main Siona structure, returning results including 17m @ 1.30 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 37m in drill hole 26IWBRC0084 and 13m @ 1.50g/t Au from 45m in 26IWBRC0074.

Other intercepts include 10m @ 0.90g/t Au from 36m, including 1m @ 2g/t Au from 36m and 2m @ 3.20g/t Au from 40m in 26IWBRC0086, and 10m @ 0.90g/t Au from 58m, including 1m @ 3.70g/t Au from 67m in 26IWBRC0080.

Yandal says the results define a shallow, gently dipping zone of gold mineralisation southwest of the primary Siona mineralised structure.

The results show an almost horizontal zone of gold mineralisation that includes some discrete higher-grade intervals. The shallow nature and consistent geometry are very encouraging and will certainly add to the mineral resource potential of the Siona prospect,” Managing Director Chris Oorschot says.

The company says the weathered and oxidised nature of the intercepts makes it difficult to determine whether the mineralisation is linked to a primary structure or represents secondary mineralisation within the regolith.

The 950m drilling program followed Yandal’s gold discovery at Siona in late 2024 and early 2025 and tested mineralisation beneath previously identified shallow intercepts.

Yandal plans further RC drilling in H2 2026 to determine whether the mineralisation continues across the main Siona trend.

Yandal also plans an RC program at Salusa in the coming weeks, while broader aircore drilling at New England Granite will commence following heritage approvals. The company expects to publish an updated exploration target for Siona in early August.
