Waratah extends Spur gold zone with ‘high-grade’ hits

Waratah Minerals (ASX:WTM) has reported continued ‘high-grade’ gold intercepts from its 80,000m drilling program at the Spur Gold Zone in New South Wales.

The latest results from 12 diamond holes confirm shallow mineralisation across a 500m-wide corridor south of the Essex Fault within the broader 6km priority target zone at the Cargo Intrusive Complex margin.

Key intercepts include 55.9m @ 2.63 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 3.1m in hole SPD058, featuring 31.9m @ 4.45g/t Au from 12.1m including 1m @ 108g/t Au from 43m. The hole extends significant near-surface mineralisation 40m north along the Tywi Fault.

SPD063 delivered 25m @ 2.05g/t Au from 359m, including 9m @ 4.55g/t Au from 374m and 2m @ 16.68g/t Au from 378m, expanding mineralisation 180m below previous drill holes.

Central Spur drilling continues to deliver encouraging results, with SPD043 intersecting 56m @ 0.75g/t Au from surface, including 3m @ 8.12g/t Au from 43m and 7m @ 3.85g/t Au from 93m.

Managing Director Peter Duerden says drilling continues across multiple targets at the Spur Project, with rigs operating at Spur, Consols, Ironclad, and Gazzards.

“These results from Spur have extended shallow mineralisation defining a 500m wide corridor south of the Essex Fault within the wider 6km long priority target zone at the margin of the Cargo Intrusive Complex,” Duerden says.

Waratah remains focused on systematically exploring across multiple priority targets and expects to provide updates from Consols drilling and initial reverse circulation results from Gazzards.
