Waratah confirms 6km gold corridor at Spur

Waratah Minerals (ASX:WTM) has reported shallow gold results from its Alpine Gold zone, supporting a continuous 6km mineralised corridor across its Spur Project in New South Wales.

Reverse circulation drilling has identified ‘high-grade’ gold mineralisation in a newly discovered structure at Alpine, adding momentum to its district-scale exploration model linking Alpine, Gazzards, Spur, and Consols.

Standout results from Alpine include hole ARC023, which returned 7m @ 1.40 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 13m, including 1m @ 9.34g/t Au from 17m; and 20m @ 1.82g/t Au from 53m, including 8m @ 4.38g/t Au from 55m and 1m @ 26.63g/t Au from 59m.

Hole ARC024 ended in ‘high-grade’ gold of 5.63g/t Au and will be deepened with a diamond tail. It returned 12m @ 1.18g/t Au from 27m and 14m @ 0.84g/t Au from 106m, including 1m @ 5.63g/t Au from 119m.

ARC021 returned 29m @ 0.54g/t Au from 40m, including 8m @ 1.12g/t Au from 43m and 1m @ 2.94g/t Au from 62m.

Managing Director Peter Duerden says the results validate the company’s thesis that the entire 6km margin of the Cargo Intrusive Complex represents a high-priority gold target.

“These strong results from the Alpine zone along with the recent results from the Gazzards zone, validate our thesis that the entire 6km‑long margin of the Cargo Intrusive Complex represents a high‑priority gold target zone with potential for extensions of the strong gold mineralisation encountered at Spur and Consols,” Duerden notes.

“The interpretation is supported by consistent geology, alteration and mineralisation, strengthening the exploration model across the Cargo Intrusive Complex.”

The Alpine zone drilling targeted multiple exploration areas through field mapping, soil sampling, and ground geophysical data. Mineralisation was intercepted in andesite, basalt, and brecciated contact zones.

A follow‑up diamond drilling program is being designed, with regulatory approvals underway.

Drilling is expected to commence in the December quarter, targeting along‑strike and depth extensions at Alpine, Gazzards, and the area between Alpine and Goldenclad.
