Wallbrook continues to show Nexus exploration opportunities

The Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia is continuing to show Nexus Minerals (ASX:NXM) strong regional exploration opportunities after receiving drill results from an aircore drilling campaign.

Nexus, which has a market capitalisation of $26.26 million, is planning a follow-up aircore drilling campaign to expand upon these results.

Managing Director Andy Tudor says the follow-up program will focus on these results and complete testing all 18 high-priority regional targets.

“We will then rank the targets for follow-up reverse circulation drilling,” Tudor says.

“Whilst any one of the prospects assessed represent a major success, the highlight of the program is the Payns prospect discovery.

“This prospect is the combined footprint of MC5.1 and MC5.2 which offers exciting scale and grade potential for the Wallbrook Gold Project.”

Tudor adds that through this latest work, the company continues to show Wallbrook’s potential to deliver additional gold discoveries.

The aircore campaign comprised 284 holes for 9,811m across four targets within Wallbrook. All four targets delivered broad near surface gold assay results, including 4m @ 6.85 grams per tonne gold and 4m @ 4.02g/t gold.

At target MC2.1, gold anomalism has been uncovered over 400m by 250m, with intersections recording 8m @ 2.94g/t gold and 3m @ 1.92g/t gold. Meanwhile, at target MC1.5, results include 4m @ 10.95g/t gold.

The Wallbrook Project covers 192km2 and is an amalgamation of tenements acquired from Newmont (ASX:NEM) and delisted company Saracen Minerals in 2018.

Nexus Minerals is a gold explorer focused on its tenement package in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
